Christmas 2024
Our 2024 Christmas concert in memory of Barbara Ling was very well attended despite awful weather. Led by Jane Hanna and supported by Dark Duo, it was a most enjoyable evening. Everyone was extremely generous - donations exceeded £1100 to Hospice in the Weald. We wish to thank everyone who contributed to a truly successful evening.
Spring 2024
At the end of March WIH were invited to sing at the AGM of the West Kent Federation of Women’s Institutes taking place at the Assembly Hall Tunbridge Wells. We performed a selection of songs from around the world, led by Merrilyn Watson. The concert was very well received with many compliments from members of the audience.
Advent and Christmas 2023
Our Advent Concert took place at St. Mark's Church, Broadwater Down, Tunbridge Wells on 19th November. The concert was well-attended, raising £660 for St. Matt's Community Larder in High Brooms.
We also sang at Hospice in the Weald's Christmas Market on Saturday 25th November.
Our final event of 2023 took place in the Atrium at the Amelia Scott Centre, Tunbridge Wells on Saturday 2nd December, where we sang festive music for the Amelia's Winter Artisan Craft Market.
Summer Concert 2023
We performed a well-attended end-of-term concert at The Masonic Hall, St. John's Road, Tunbridge Wells on Monday 17th July.
The choir sang a variety of a cappella pieces, including the theme tune from The Vicar of Dibley by Howard Goodall, and A Flower Remembered by John Rutter. There were also performances of two flute pieces given by one of our choir members.
The concert was in aid of the Multiple System Atrophy Trust and we raised £1120.
